چکیده

This study compares the performance of Hollow Fiber (HF) and Flat Sheet (FS) types membrane bioreactors (MBRs) for treatment food beverage (F&B) industry wastewater in a pilot-scale plant (WWTP). HF FS configurations were evaluated at two different Mixed Liquor Suspended Solid (MLSS) levels: 6000 mg/L 12,000 mg/L. The each configuration was terms Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) Total (TSS) removals effluent quality measurement. transmembrane pressure (TMP), flux rate, silt density index (SDI) monitored calculated fouling assessment. results show that rejection rates COD TSS more than 84% MLSS levels. During study, recorded 0.3 bar pressure, which complies with recommended range (i.e., to three times chemical cleaning). On other hand, operates without cleaning, TMP value below 0.2 bar. It found values both systems within 40 L/m2/h. Analysis SDI revealed ranged between 1 2.38 allowable limit 3. Both MBR consistently achieved an 80% 95% rate TSS. Effluent measurement treated F&B this using WWTP integrated indicated good achievement compliance Malaysia industrial discharge standards.

Municipal Wastewater Treatment Using a Hollow Fiber Membrane Bioreactor

A bioreactor equipped with hollow fiber microfiltration membranes was applied for wastewater treatment. Removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) was investigated. The experimental setup consisted of influent and effluent tanks, and membrane modules using Polyvinyl Di–Fluoride (PVDF) hollow fibers. The operation program included suction and backwash...

Efficient treatment of baker’s yeast wastewater using aerobic membrane bioreactor

A membrane bioreactor (MBR) system based on a dead-end immersed hollow fiber membrane and filamentous fungus Aspergillus oryzae were used for treatment of baker’s yeast wastewater. The fungus was adapted to the wastewater in the bioreactor for two weeks before starting the continuous process. Average organic loading rate of 4.2 kg COD/m3.d was entered the bioreactor. MBR system was able to redu...

Pilot scale study on a new membrane bioreactor hybrid system in municipal wastewater treatment.

A pilot scale membrane bioreactor hybrid system (MBR-HS) was evaluated for municipal wastewater treatment. This novel system comprised of a granular activated carbon-sponge fluidized bed bioreactor (GACS-FBBR) followed by a submerge membrane bioreactor (MBR) with the capacity of 2 L/min. The results indicated that the MBR-HS could effectively remove 90% DOC and 95% NH₄-N. PO₄-P removal efficien...

Study on Operational Conditions to Minimize Membrane Fouling in Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) System for Wastewater Treatment-Preliminary Pilot Tests

In this study, effect of antiscalant usage on minimizing of membrane fouling due to high water hardness during wastewater treatment tests run by a pilot-scale membrane bioreactor (MBR) system. The membranes used in these studies were Kubota flat sheet MBR membranes made from polyethylene with a pore size of 0.4 micrometer. Preliminary tests were carried out with tap water...
